After the resent drought culminating in the 2020 bushfires, the wet winter and spring of 2020 was a welcoming relief. The soil and the vines were given a much need reprieve and while the financial pressure the Hunter’s Vignerons endured tested everyone in the Valley the crop yields for the 2021 harvest were a small win. With grapes delivering record yields, it with the Growers with the knowledge and experience who got those crops ripe. Vineyard health and good management saw Bonvilla harvesting grapes in top condition with excellent flavour. Semillon and the other whites look exceptional and while the Reds are lighter framed, they will result in some classic medium bodied Hunter styles.

    • Winemaking

Mid pale lemon yellow with a radiant green hue.
Lemon sherbet and a hint of jasmine floral, subtle Lavender and dusty mineral notes. Abundant lemon blossom and some more intense citrus like mandarin and ripe grapefruit.
Rich and full flavoured Hunter Semillon with excellent depth of flavour. Lemon and grapefruit with honeysuckle and jasmine adding complexity to the palate.
Refined and lip-smacking acidity gives length and persistence.
The 2021 Hunter Semillons are drinking well as young wines but will happily sit in the cellar
